Homeward Path 53: Deckbuilding in a New Format
I couldn’t think of a punny title, so instead, we’re just sharing stories this week about the last time we got a brand new format. For those who don’t know, I actually served as part of what was essentially a Beta Test for Modern, where we went through a lot of the same exercises we’re now doing for Pioneer. Identifying pillars, digging for sleepers, and trying desperately to get sideboards right, we learned a lot from the experience, mostly through error. I’d rather save you the time and tribulation of those errors, so I’ve distilled it down into some simple things to keep in mind when building decks in a format that’s never existed before!
