Magic has been through a rough couple of years, between stale formats and copious amounts of bannings, particularly in Standard. Rather than look at each card individually, I thought it’d be useful to look at the combination of format constraints, balance issues, and public outcry, that led to each banning that happened in my time playing Magic, so maybe we can better anticipate the next one.
